    Description

Up for sale is an absolutely perfect vintage cremax depression glass cup and saucer in the “Cremax Classic” pattern by MacBeth-Evans Glass!  MacBeth-Evans made the Cremax Classic pattern (Cremax is both the name of the pattern and also refers to the color of the glass) during the late 1930s and early 40s.  They had a knack for making delicate-looking glassware that's actually tougher than it looks! The only difference between my two sets of photos is the flash - the ones without the flash look a bit purple, but they show the ridge detail a bit better.  The saucer has an embossed "piecrust" style edge with a scalloped border, and the cup has the same embossed scallop-like ridged design all around the outside.  There are 18 cup and saucer sets available for purchase in this auction - the bid price is for one set, and the buyer has the option of taking as many as desired.  All 18 sets are in immaculate condition –there are no chips, cracks, flakes, fleabites, nicks or roughness anywhere, and the glass is nice and shiny with no stains, oxidation or unsightly utensil marks whatsoever.  It looks as if they've been packed away for the last 80 years and never used!  The glass is an opaque creamy white shade, and they're absolutely guaranteed to be vintage – not reproduction or new glass.  The Cremax pattern can be seen photographed in Gene Florence’s “Collector’s Encyclopedia of Depression Glass”.  The buyer will pay shipping.  Shipping will be combined for the buyer of more than one item whenever practical.  Shipping is normally within 24 hours  after receipt of PayPal payment (if other payment options are desired, please don’t hesitate to inquire). Please feel free to e-mail any other questions or requests for additional photos, and thanks very much for looking!! Be sure to see my other fantastic items by clicking on the link above.
