Vintage Independent Skateboard Trucks - Stage 5, 1980s

Description

One pair of Independent Stage 5 skateboard trucks. I got these back in 1987, and they've been sitting in either the basement or the garage since about 1991.As you will see in the photos, the two trucks are of different sizes. These were used on an old Alva deck, which had a typical fishtail shape for that era, and thus the front truck was wider than the rear truck. Please note that the sizes listed here are my best attempt at measuring with a measuring tape... these figures vs. whatever the "official" release measurements were might vary slightly due to my skill.
Smaller truck: 149mm (axle length 227mm)
Longer truck: 169mm (axle length 236 mm)
If you are interested in actually skating with these, you'll almost certainly want to replace the 34-year-old bushings! And you would probably want to give them a good cleaning while you're at it.
Finally, as you see in the photos, these were definitely used, and show some wear from grinding curbs, etc.
